Beer is still great. Nice IPA and Stout. The Mead, guest brew from CO is okay with an apricot taste. Service is great because even though very busy on a Friday night, they took the time to describe the selection although really quick. Mistakenly, i again had the "peel and eat shrimp". It still has the chalky taste. I knew better. Friend said the meatloaf was very good.

This is supposed to be a brew pub but the day I went it was like a kindergarten! Beer & small kids don't mix. The bar service was painfully slow. I hate having to beg for service. AND, there were only 3 people at the bar!!! During this particular visit, BOTH of my favorites brews weren't available. Quite a trip from Sierra Vista...one that I won't make again!

We came for the beer. The Happy Hour prices on beer and appetizers was attractive, so we stayed for a second round. The IPA, Porter and Stout were all so satisfying.

This establishment is located in an outlet mall - the Foothills Mall, so the focus is on restaurant then brewpub. There are lots of families with kids with a few focused on the beer.
I had the Cajun wings and they were dry rubbed and very, very good. I then proceeded to down a couple of IPAs which were hoppy but a bit too sweet for my taste. The variety of beers was impressive. They do a great business in takeout of their growlers so maybe most of their fans drink at home. Who knows?
This place sits in the foothills so it's not a short drive from downtown (18 miles) but worth the visit considering the usual crap that surrounds suburban malls.

TCB is a regular hang out for me, so I am a bit biased. It has been pulling me back for the past 7 years or so. I was hooked on their seasonal Prescription Pils at first, but Grantly, perhaps one of the best barkeeps around, introduced me to the Thunderhead IPA and it was awsome! I am now a regular at this place and there are really no gegatives. The food is good, but not excellent. THey introduce new items fairly frequently and any of the smoked BBQ entrees are excellent. If it is Happy Hour, I suggest the smoked salmon platter to accompany an IPA or two or three. I think anyone who enjoys quality, handcrafted beer would find this venue one of the best. Thank goodness it is in my own backyard!

Went there to relax. However, we had to listen to the bartenders complain about each other and how they don't help out or do their job. They obviously couldn't handle the amount of people they had. Service was crappy and it got very old having to listen to the bitching from the staff and watching customers have to wait for service or food.

I think the next time I go here I will forgo any meal. The beer selection only gets a good because I feel a microbrewery should offer more than 6 or 8 selections. The quality is pretty good, at least the IPA. I haven't enjoyed a meal here yet. This visit I tried the chicken pot pie (it was my 2nd option as they were out of my first choice). It came way too soon, less than 10 minutes. I've enjoyed a Swanson frozen dinner more. The waitress was great; cheerful, attentive and friendly.

Still one of my favorites in AZ. Had the Sandstone Cream Ale and Thunderhead IPA with the Javelina sandwich (as usual). No disappointments here.

The Obsidian Porter and I.P.A. are both exceptional beers. Getting fine handcrafted beer on the Northside of Tucson after Pusch Ridge Brewing closed :-( was a priority. Grantly is the coolest guy you will ever meet behind a bar. The Master of Disaster wings should kick your ass but with great flavor. Great location. A comfortable place to kind of "hide out." All around Kudos.

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday with a large group. The service was fast and no problem splitting checks. Only had two 10 oz beers. Both were very good.
The experience was certainly much better than you would stereotypically think for a mall location. Certainly if you want to eat it is superior to Nimbus.

Evidently T.C. corrected any quality problems referenced with their IPA- I found it a well balanced recipe with bittering, flavor, and aroma hop profiles. Not as intense as Rockies Brewing Co. "Mojo", of course. Yes, they have to cater to mall denizens who may not appreciate good beer. But their selection was good, and only their Cream Ale (aka Miller Lite clone) could be said to lack flavor (even it it was better than Miller, I suspect). Other varieties included Doppelbock, Dunkel, Wheat, Amber, Stout and ESB. The service was very, very good. It's easier to find than Nimbus, and their happy hour price for a pint was a good value.

Been here a few times. Was ignored by bartender so many times we quit going. A friend invited us to meet here and we went a few weeks ago. Beer was okay, not great. The pilsner was probably the best one, the amber was blah. IPA kinda blah, too. Ate some kinda chicken on a stick appetizer. Okay, not great. So, I guess I won't go back for a while.

IPA was very good. Amber a good thirst quencher. It was Shrimp Month, so that's what we ordered. I should have known better than to order seafood in a landlocked state. Cocktail sauce had a nice bite and almost hid the defrosted aftertaste of the shrimp.

I visited this brewpub on 3-18-04 and had the following brews; Flash Light, Windstorm Wheat, Sandstone Cream Ale, Deep Canyon Amber, Catlina Pale Ale, Thunderhead IPA, Obsidian Porter, Warhead Stout, Black Out Stout & Bees'n'Berry. This was the best brewpub of my Spring Break Southern Arizona road trip. Great patio for outside dining and a great selection of brews to choose from.

This was the first brewpub of 7 that my wife and I ventured to in Arizona. Despite the location in a mall, we were pleasantly surprised by the beer and food. They featured 8 beers, which ranged from a sweet Bee Berry up to a robust Porter. The Brown and Porter were both excellent. The food was inexpensive, and the service was excellent. It was great to see so much old breweriana on the walls of this large brewpub. You should absolutely head to the mall for an ale.

Stopped in for lunch. They had 9 beers on tap that provided a nice range. I had the pale ale and the porter. Both were quite good. The food was was about what would be expected from a mall brew pub, nothing exceptional but reasonable. Nothing remarkable to mention, it isn't a bad place to have a beer if you are in the mall or the area.

I believe they have cut down the number of beers they keep on tap here and this has helped the quality of the beers. I found the beers to be pretty good. The IPA seemed fine to me. It was not as good as Stone IPA but it was also not "very light". The brewpub is in a mall in the far northwest part of town.
